International Ceramic Federation 

      

The International Ceramic Federation endorses and promotes the rganization of the innovative series of the International Congress on Ceramics. Every two years ICF appoints a National Ceramic Society that will organize the next ICC as representative of a different macro-region of the world.
The main scopes of ICC are:

  • to foster the discussion and debate and to compare the different status, perspectives and priorities among the different professionalities (politicians, ministers, industrialists, scientists and technicians) acting in the guide of diversified areas of science, technologies, production and market for ceramics;
  • the main achievement is: to synthesize trough a deep analysis and comparison of opinions the guidelines for the best sustainable mutual future development in the world, i.e.

"The Road Map of Ceramics"

CONGRESS HIGHLIGHTS 

             

THE FIRST AFTERNOON (Sunday, June 29th) the Opening Cerimony will be the occasion not only to receive the welcome of the Authorities but mainly to enjoy the presentation of the ECerS and the ICF plenary lectures and the Award to a Guest of Honour.


IN THE FIRST THREE MORNINGS (Monday, June 30th, Tuesday, July 1st and Wednesday 2nd) of the conference days, the Members of the Invited Delegations from several Countries will present, confront and discuss about the current policy for development, the priority for innovation and the current trend and future perspectives for Europe in the frame oft the world context, thus meeting the challenge imposed by the new industrial revolution and competition at global level.

THE FIRST THREE AFTERNOONS (Monday 30, Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd) of the conference are dedicatedt to three sessions

“Grand Challenges- Science and Technology Today and Tomorrow”


relative to important thematic priorities:

Ceramics for Energy

Ceramics for Environment

Ceramics for Health & Biotechnologies

where the industrial visions will be presented by invited speakers form Companies (from everywhere in the world) that are producing or utilizing ceramic-based materials or key devices and will be compared with the state of the art and perspectives of science and technologies presented by scientists and researches. These sessions will highlight the capacity to integrate knowledge and new technologies.

IN THE FOURTH DAY (Thursday, July 3th) and in the second part of the first three afternoons science and technology will play all their roles and will show their weight.
Six oral sessions, related to themes that cover materials science/processing/properties of traditional and advanced ceramics, ceramic-based composites, glass, cements, were selected in order to define the Sessions Schedule.
Plenary lectures, invited talks and contributed papers and posters will present recent results on new ceramics and ceramic-based devices, on application trends in the productive sectors which are specific to each theme.
Everyone can contribute to the set up of the global Road Map, presenting a lecture or a poster on the most recent achievements related to future materials/technologies/applications.

IN THE FIRST THREE AFTERNOONS efforts will be made to increase the capacity of the Road Map to take into account specific aspects through the organization of SPECIAL EVENTS:

  • The special event     INDUSTRIAL CERAMICS: will be mainly about economicsand correlations between economics, production and markets;


  • The special event     CERAMIC FOR ELECTRONIC: will be about the state of one of the most important application sector for economics and society benefit;

  • The special event   GEOPOLYMERS: will call for major attention to a class of materials that are candidates to play a relevant role in the future sustainable global development;

  • The special event  CAREER OPTIONS focuses on students as well as more senior people thinking about a career change. This session calls on senior scientists to discuss their experiences, so that younger researchers can make their best career choices.

IN THE MORNING OF FRIDAY the participants to the congress will meet for the presentation and discussion of the Road Map.
